Why this site exists

PREMISE

Most of what's published about OTR tyres lives inside manufacturer databooks. Bridgestone has theirs. Michelin has theirs. Goodyear, Yokohama, Continental, BKT, Aeolus, Techking, Triangle, every brand publishes their own.

Each one is manufacturer-aligned. Each one is behind a PDF download. None of them are searchable across brands. None of them are cross-referenced. None of them tell you what the tyre next door actually does in the same application.

That gap is why this site exists. We've spent five decades collating manufacturer material to do our own trading job, matching tyres to machines, machines to applications, applications to conditions. The working knowledge that lives in our spreadsheets, our heads, and our supplier relationships.

This site is that working knowledge, made available. Free. Searchable. Cross-brand. Independent. The reference we wish had existed when we started, and the reference we think the industry needs now.

MAINTAINERS

OTR Earthmover Tyre is maintained by Jewell Tyres Pty Ltd, a family-owned, independent OTR tyre trading business operating from Wodonga, Victoria since 1975.

David Jewell founded the business in 1975. Fifty years on, Jewell trades off-the-road tyres into mining, civil construction, ag, forestry and industrial fleets across Australia and New Zealand, every brand, every application, every size from 24" loader tyres through to giant 63" haul truck tyres.

The technical knowledge that powers this site comes from trading. From watching tyres go on machines, watching how long they last, watching what fails and why, watching how the OEMs price and ration and allocate. Fifty years of that.

OTR Earthmover Tyre is editorially independent. No manufacturer sponsors the site. No manufacturer reviews the content before it's published. No manufacturer gets preferential placement in the Tyre Guide, the Knowledge Portal, or the Market Notes.

When the Portal says Brand X is the better fitment for a machine in a particular application, that's the call, not what a sponsor wanted said. When a piece in Market Notes says a tier-one premium isn't worth it for a secondary fleet, that's the call.

The only commercial tie on this site is to Jewell Tyres, and that tie is openly endorsed, not hidden. Jewell maintains the site. Jewell is the trader you'd talk to if you wanted to buy or sell any of the tyres referenced here. The endorsement is the point: independence from manufacturers, anchored to a 50-year independent trading business.
